O the joys of packing

As a woman I often find my self packing days if not weeks in advance for a trip away. Unlike someone I could mention (Yes Alex that means you) who can pack the DAY of leaving and still have everything they need in a concise little bag that weighs next to nothing.

Me on the other hand, I'm beyond disorganised, I will always, always forget something. I once went to stay with my Dad for a few days and forgot to pack any knickers at all. So needless to say I've been packing for Uni...for months. I for one do not want to turn up at freshers week only to relises all my underwear is still neatly folded...oo alright crumpled in a ball.. in my top draw back home.

The only problem with this is that the more I try to pack things the more they seem to escape their boxes and reappear in my room. I'm forever repacking my books at the moment as every time I decide this is the last time I go rummaging for that book that I just have to read right now I suddenly realise I need another book... that just so happens to be in the bottom of the box, soon once again I'm sat on the spare room floor; buried up to my knees in books and about to cry when I realise I'm going to have to repack it AGAIN!

Maybe I should just get Mum to do it.....

Results Day!

Exams are nerve racking; but at least I know I'm in control. After that final exam paper gets whisked off by a thoroughly bored looking invigilator it's all up to the dreaded 'examiners'.

Seems I can't have a results day without blubbering all down the front of Alex's T-shirt (I'm sure it will dry out soon) but at least today I had excuse. These were THE results dun dun dur! Deciders of our destiny...

OK bit over dramatic, but it is true that these results make the difference between either another year of college slog/getting a job OR 3 years at the university of your choice with the hope of a larger wage packet at the other end.

Thankfully for some unknown reason the University of East London has taken pity on me and I will therefore be attending their course on Photography and Creative Writing SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Honestly thought I'd completely screwed up when I opened my envelope to find 2 D's staring at me (hence Alex's wet shirt) but I made it now its just the next big step I have to contend with....

UNI!

Within the next month I'm expected to leave home to live with a flat full of strange (and possibly smelly) people I don't know, master the art of something called 'cooking' and completely bankrupt myself in the process of attaining a 4by4 square called 'my room'.

Over the next 3 years I'll encounter many things (all this assuming I don't get hit by a bus on moving day) and I plan to share it all with you lovely people as I fall over every hurdle, up every step and even further in love with life.

Now to my next challenge.......Packing.
